Ford is feeling the impacts of the semiconductor chip shortage more than most other automakers. The F-150 and Escape manufacturing has suffered multiple times over the last few months as Ford continues to battle with a broken supply chain. The chip shortage is only compounded by additional supply chain problems such as steel, rubber, and foam shortages, to name a few. Meanwhile, Ford attempts to bypass the problem by stockpiling unfinished F-150 and Ford Super Duty pickups at Detroit and Kentucky plants.
